What is recruiter's assistance in the Marine Corps, and how does one go about getting to do it?
Q. My boyfriend at boot camp asked me to do some research on recruiter's assistance. Does he have to talk to his original recruiter? Or ask about it at boot camp?

A. Your question about RA is actually pretty simple, I remember when i went through bootcamp they read off our orders and some of us Reported to School of Infantry or MCT after our leave and some went straight to SOI and a few people got Recruiters Assistance. You have to go down to his recruiting station and ask the recruiter he was recruited by if he can get him RA there will be some paperwork involved and they will have to send up orders to his bootcamp he can get anywhere from 17-23days of it and he will have to help recruit while he is home but he wont get charged leave, he can also do this after MCT.

What percentage of all assistance animals are guide dogs?
Q. What percentage of all assistance animals that help the disabled are guide dogs? I also need the percentages for other assistance animals like helping monkeys, horses etc. For example, you can say 80% of all assistance animals are guide dogs. If you can't find the percentage, can you at least find me the number of each helping animal? Thanks

A. There are no statistics on this. Lots of different organizations train service dogs, including guide and hearing dogs. In the U.S. at least they don't have to be registered anywhere, so we don't even know for sure how many there are much less what type. You might be able to get a very rough estimate by asking the IAADP (International Association of Assistance Dog Partners). I know they ask their members whether their dogs are guides, hearing dogs or service dogs, but I don't know if they've actually compiled any statistics from this data. It would be really skewed data and probably disproportionately low on guide dogs since the benefits of IAADP membership wouldn't be as attractive since their own programs can provide a lot of them.… [cont.]

What can I do to get financial assistance for medical and dental expenses?
Q. I am looking at spending nearly $7,500 on medical and dental expenses. I have tried applying for Medi-Cal, and I do not qualify. I cannot get CMSP because I am not 21 yet. I live with my dad and I am 20 years old with low income and no assets except my truck. Are there any other ways of getting cash aid and medical/dental financial assistance?

A. I'm in the same type of boat as U R. I work for Kroger Supermarkets in Tucson,AZ. I've been working for them for 6 months,and due to the union contract;i still have to wait another 6 months before I'm eligible for benefits. Good Luck! I wish U well.
