The term Social refers to a characteristic of living organisms (humans in particular, though biologists also apply the term to populations of other animals). It always refers to the interaction of organisms with other organisms and to their collective co-existence, irrespective of whether they are aware of it or not, and irrespective of whether the interaction is voluntary or involuntary.

How come social conservatives see themselves as freedom fighters?
Q. How is this not a contradiction. Socially Liberal by definition is for freedom of religion, equal rules for all genders, sexes and sexualities. Social Conservatives have in the past implemented segregation, stopped women from voting and now fight against gay marriage, and a woman's right to an abortion. The extreme right when it comes to social conservatism can be shown by Sharia Law. Now obviously even the most crazy right-wing Americans don't want to go that far, but that is the direction the right takes on a political spectrum. So, to summarize for those of you that actually read the details, social conservatism restricts freedom.

What makes people with good social skills so snappy and intolerant?
Q. Lets say your some social place and your in a group of people or a crowd and somebody says something and one of the people who have great genes or social skills or whatever says something like "what are you talking about" or "wtf" or what have you. In the persons mind they are just talking or curious or whatever and the elite or whatever you wanna call it sees it as an opportunity to attack or think that person is weird. Are they born with these social skills or non randomness? The way you act or things you say are completely different when there is a crowd what causes this?

A. I would say that having "Good Social Skills" would require that a person NOT appear to be "snappy or intolerant.

Social security benefits are indexed to inflation. Would my benefit be reduced if we have negative inflation?
Q. I am currently receiving social security benefits. If we have negative inflation in 2009, would my benefit be reduced in 2010? Can you give me a reference to support your answer or a description of your qualifications to answer it. I don't just want an opinion. Thanks.

A. No! Social Security would not reduce your check. You would just not receive a cost of living increase and I have never seen that happen. Here are the COLAs back 2000 to present: Year COLA 2000 3.5 2001 2.6 2002 1.4 2003 2.1 2004 2.7 2005 4.1 2006 3.3 2007 2.3 2008 5.8
